The Muttropolis store in La Jolla is hosting an Ice Cream Social for your pooch on Saturday, July 10th from 11am to 2pm. Muttropolis' Facebook page says, " Today, pooches of all breeds are invited to cool off from the summer sun with an ice cream social - with complimentary Nature's Variety Frozen Yogurt for the dogs! During this great event, we'll also have snacks and beverages for the pet parents, and everyone will receive a 10% discount coupon for any purchases the day of the event. All pups will receive a complimentary goodie bag as well!I scream, you scream...all the dogs scream for ICE CREAM!"

Check out a Yappy Hour tomorrow (6/27-Sun) from 4 to 6 pm to benefit the FACE Foundation. The website says, "Enjoy a Glass of Wine and Help Save a Life at “Yappy Hour”! Join the FACE Foundation and Three Dog Bakery for Yappy Hour! You will enjoy wine, treats for humans and a “Quick Tip” dog training workshop conducted by Colleen Demling from Pawtopia. Summertime!

Yeah! It's Summer! In honor of it being summertime, I decided to change Penny's photo on the right hand-side of the blog to better fit the season. We recently bought a little kiddy pool, so when we can't make it to the dog beach she can still take a little dip in the pool at home. We tried taking her to a real pool, but she refuses to get in that (we think it's because she can't tell how deep that first step is). But she loves the kiddy pool, especially when we throw her tennis ball into it! I hope you all have a great summer!

6/26--Green Jazz Fest

Check out Green Jazz Fest in San Diego on Saturday June 26th from 11am to 4pm. This event's focus is that of recycling. There will be art, food, and music. Check out the link for more details including location. A portion of the net proceeds will be donated to San Diego Youth Services. (I'm assuming you can bring your dog to this event, especially since it's held in an outdoor setting.)

Did you miss the Summer Beach Party kick-off summer event at the Solana Beach Muttropolis? Don't worry, you can still check out the Dog Days of Summer Party at the La Jolla Muttropolis, on Tueday June 22nd from 7 to 8pm. Their site says, "Calling all Dogs! 6/24--Yappy Hour at La Jolla Brewhouse

Join in on the Yappy Hour Summer Kick Off event at La Jolla Brewhouse on Thursday June 24th, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in La Jolla. This event invites you to participate in pet costume contests and look-alike contests, or for raffle prizes, drinks, and food. This event is sponsored by Petsurg and ER4Pets. PETSURG.com site posted a flyer of the event that explains, "For 25 years the Pet Assistance Foundation of San Diego has helped provide funds for pet owners who can’t afford pet care such as emergency care and refers pet owners to low-cost spay/neuter veterinary hospitals. Please donate but admission is free. It’ll be the most fun you ever had with your dog in a bar! Sorry no alcohol served to dogs under 18 yrs. Canine Menu available."
