On Saturday, December 4th the Escondido Humane Society will be holding an event where your pet can get their photo taken with Santa! How fun! Their website says, "Santa himself will be making a special visit to the Escondido Humane Society to bring good tidings and holiday cheer to animals in need at our Pet Photos with Santa and Holiday Boutique. Whether naughty or nice, all pets can meet Santa and have their photo taken with him. For a $10 donation to EHS, you will receive a keepsake 4x6 photo; for an additional $10 you can get a CD with the digital files, just in time to create holiday cards with the entire family. Those who don't have pets but still want to bring joy to homeless animals can stop by our Holiday Boutique and bake sale, where gifts for dogs and cats and homemade presents for people and pets will be available. Pet Photos with Santa and Holiday Boutique is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 4 at EHS, 3450 E. Valley Parkway. Appointments can be made by calling (760) 888-2235, but walk-in (and wag-ins!) are welcome." What a great cause!
The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA periodically holds Puppy Support Groups. Their website says, "Got some questions? Bring your puppy for an hour of open-forum problem solving and puppy play! Puppies must be current on their vaccines and under 16 weeks of age. Cost: $35 per lesson." Click the link above for more information. 
Does your dog need a little TLC and relaxation!?! Then check out the Canine Massage lecture through the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA on Thursday, October 21st from 6:30-8pm. Their website says, "Come learn about some wonderful holistic modalities that can help keep your pet happy & healthy. All dogs can benefit from treatments, such as Canine massage, Acupressure, Reiki and EFT (emotional freedom techniques). These are very effective for various physical ailments, emotional and behavioral issues, and preventative care. Cost is $12 per person and includes materials, light snacks and non-alcoholic refreshments. Please note all classes are for people only - please leave your great pets at home." Check out the 2010 Coastwise Mile & 5K at the beautiful La Jolla Cove on Saturday October 2nd! One of the events will include the The Mutt Mile & Doggy Costume Contest. Their website goes on to say, "The Mutt Mile kicks off @ 7:30am. So bring your canine compadre and run/walk a mile. All dogs must have their shots (and be up to date). And all dogs must be on a leash (8' max length). We will also be having a costume contest @ 7:15am prior to the run (so the dogs don't have to run in their costumes). So come out and have some fun at the park, and stop by the San Diego Humane Society booth. Please note that due to City Regulations all dogs must vacate the park by 9:00am." The San Diego Human Society in San Diego is hosting a Doggie Cafe on Friday, July 30th from 6-8pm. This is a fun time of socialization for you and your dog as well as learning. The site explains, "Have fun socializing with other dog lovers and their dogs while you practice teaching your dog how to be calm around exciting distractions like people, other dogs and food! Dogs should be friendly and on-leash. One dog per human handler please. Dogs should be at least 4 months old and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies, to attend. Limited beverages, sandwiches, salads, and more available for purchase. Complimentary desserts and dog treats provided. Behavior and Training specialists "on-paw" to answer training questions. $10 suggested donation for the event...RSVP on-line or by calling 619-299-7012 ext 2230."
