12/18--Spaniel Social

Got a Spaniel? Join in on the Spaniel Social on Saturday Decemeber 18th at Oceanside Dog Park from 11:00am - ? pm at 2905 San Luis Rey Road, Oceanside, CA. 92054. The San Diego Spaniel Rescue site says, "Join fellow Cocker Spaniel owners (and their dogs!) for a leisurely get together. Our Spaniel Social happens monthly.... Your Spaniels can run and play in the fenced-in dog park. This is a great opportunity to bond with your canine companion while providing socialization skills."

11/13--CCI Graduation

This is not an event you will be able to bring your dog to, but something you may want to check out for yourself! Canine Companions for Independence graduation ceremony will be held this Saturday, November 13th at Noon in Oceanside. Graduations are open to the public and admission is free. Their website explains, "Canine Companion's graduation ceremonies occur four times a year. At these inspiring events, people with disabilities graduate with their new, highly-trained assistance dogs. These dogs have been in training for over two years and know approximately 50 commands including opening doors, turning on/off lights, and retrieving dropped objects. The graduation ceremony is the culmination of an intensive, residential, two-week Team Training course with these new human/canine partners at the Canine Companions Southwest Regional Training Center in Oceanside." Penny's cousin is a CCI doggy! He is so smart and sweet, and is such a gift to the people he serves!

10/2 & 10/16--San Diego Spaniel Rescue Socials

Do you have a Spaniel? Well, then here's a great social event for your doggy! The San Diego Spaniel Resuce periodically holds dog socials. In October, their will be one held on Saturday 10/2 at Doyle Dog Park, and one on 10/16 at Oceanside Dog Park. Their site says, "Join fellow Cocker Spaniel owners (and their dogs!) for a leisurely get together. Our Spaniel Social happens monthly beginning at 1:00pm. 5/15--CCI dog graduation--FREE

Check out the newest graduates from CCI (Canine Companions for Independence) on 5/15 (Sat) and noon in Oceanside. Penny's doggy 'cousin' is a CCI doggy and to say he is so good and smart would be an understatement. The graduation event only occurs 4 times per year! As the CCI website explains, "At these inspiring events, people with disabilities will graduate with their new, highly-trained assistance dogs. These dogs have been in training for over two years and know approximately 50 commands including opening doors, turning on/off lights, and retrieving dropped objects. " The event is free and open to the public. (I'm guessing that you probably won't be able to bring your dog to the graduation, but I could be wrong. Their phone number is listed on their website, so call to be sure.) I think it's so amazing and inspiring what a dog can do and the love a dog can show, and I think this event will only prove that!
